Lotus Cars inaugural drive day in Western Australia was more than a scenic drive, it was an adrenaline-fuelled unforgettable experience and firsthand look at the brand’s electrifying future.
This unique event organised by Lotus Perth demonstrates the brand’s commitment to providing an exclusive Lotus lifestyle where owners can experience the world-class engineering but also connect with like minded enthusiasts. The drive day showcased the much anticipated Electre SUV and the Emeya GT taking centre stage, two high performance electric vehicles that represent how the brand can push the limits of the EV performance while still maintaining the agile feel that Lotus is renowned for.
23 Lotus cars participated in the drive day, which wasn’t only about Lotus’s electric future but also a nod to its past and present, including 15 Emira’s. As the last combustion-engine car in Lotus’s lineup, the Emira holds a special place in the brands history, marking the end of an era while embracing the start of another, this drive day was a momentous occasion for all the Emira owners in WA.
The route which spanned 140 kms started at the Autostrada showroom in Burswood, the convoy cruised out of Perth and allowed the drivers to put their cars’ torque, handling and acceleration to the test winding through stunning landscape to the historic town of Beverley in WA’s wheatbelt. From curving country roads to long stretches, the trip gave the drivers a true sense of how the new EV’s handle in real world scenarios to test the performance on various road conditions. Travelling through WA’ s diverse yet beautiful landscape, drivers were able to observe the handling precision, regenerative braking efficiency, and energy consumption of these EV models, experiencing firsthand how they perform… as well as testing their own driving skills!
