In a home in Wattle Grove, a dated kitchen has been transformed into a space of timeless elegance with a French Provincial influence, thanks to the expertise and guidance of Dino Arcaro from Arcaro Exclusive Kitchens. This stunning renovation is a showcase of traditional craftsmanship, attention to detail, and a carefully curated design process that draws on decades of experience.
At the heart of the project is Dino himself, a cabinet maker and artisan with a background in fine Italian furniture. With more than 35 years of industry experience and a reputation for delivering bespoke kitchens with enduring style, Dino brings a deeply personalised approach to each project. His first question to every client is simple yet telling ‘What is your vision for your dream kitchen?’ From there, the journey begins.
For the Wattle Grove project, the clients were led through countless samples and design variations to ensure every feature struck the right balance and made an impact. While 3D drawings can be produced, Dino prefers his traditional stick-drawing method which is old-school these days, but a highly effective technique that paired with physical samples, helps clients clearly visualise the final outcome.
The end result is nothing short of extraordinary. Crisp white cabinetry finished in 2-pak with a soft 20% sheen sets a refined tone, while black stone benchtops and black architectural hardware add a bold, contemporary edge. A splashback of white herringbone tiles sits beautifully behind a feature black oven, bringing depth and texture to the space.
One of the most challenging elements of the renovation were the two large structural steel columns located in the middle of the kitchen island which Dino cleverly turned into a design feature. These columns were carefully clad and integrated into the island’s aesthetic, ensuring they enhanced rather than disrupted the flow. Decorative corbels and pilaster corbels were selected in proportion to the space, contributing to the authentic French Provincial character of the kitchen.
The renovation doesn’t end in the kitchen. The same classic style continues throughout the home, with coordinated cabinetry in the scullery, bathrooms, dining area, and bar, creating a sense of harmony and sophistication throughout the interiors.
