Surrounded by the lush, dense rainforests and flourishing Australian bushland of Tallebudgera in the Gold Coast Hinterland, this gorgeous custom home is a perfect example of natural timber cladding being used in luxury home design with spectacular effect, both tying the home to the stunning natural surrounds and exemplifying sustainable luxury living.
Designed by VIDA Interior Design, & Building Biology, the home was the work of builders Pivotal Building Projects and has beautifully answered the client’s brief for a home with a warm, neutral palette utilising natural materials that would connect the home to the environment and enhance the well being of the inhabitants. Modinex’s Western Red Cedar, Castelation Screenclad cladding has been used extensively throughout the home with stunning effect, adding a wonderful organic quality to the home’s interior. In the living room, the inspired continuation of the cladding from wall to ceiling serves as a frame for the expansive window, highlighting the picturesque view to the home’s lush exterior landscape through to the bushland beyond and creek that runs through the property.
Serving as a striking architectural feature, the golden hues of the timber add a wonderful warmth to the home’s contemporary design – not just aesthetically but through the subtle spicy aroma of the Western Red Cedar that subtly infuses the environment.
In the master suite the timber cladding has again been used, adding texture and interest to the space. Throughout the home, floor to ceiling windows allow in an abundance of natural light, which throughout the day highlights the nuances of the natural timber, dynamically changing the look and feel of the interior as the light changes.
This gorgeous luxury custom home not only encourages its occupants to appreciate the stunning surrounding environment scenery but beautifully integrates nature within.
