Phono is born from our two loves: wine and music. Our wines are recordings of the land, the weather, and the winemaking – together in live performance. Fleeting, electric, and perfectly unique.
Music is never performed exactly the same way twice – it is an expression of a brief moment in time. It is unpredictable, and can change dramatically night-to-night. Particular performances can go down in history as magical, noteworthy occurrences.
Likewise, wine is a recording of a particular point in time. It is a story of weather, geology, serendipity, and of the desires of the viticulturalist and the winemaker. No one vintage is ever perfect, no two tastings are ever the same.

BEST WINES TO CELLAR
This McLaren Vale Grenache is a delicate symphony of variety, region and vintage. To the eye—Bright and light crimson through to pink. Aroma – Perfumed rose petals, sour cherry and a subtle hint of herbs. On the palate – Bright and juicy with cleansing acidity and velvet like tannins.
This Adelaide Hills Chardonnay is a masterful composition—delicately balanced and nuanced in flavour. To the eye – Very light yellow with green and silver hues. Aroma – Ripe white peach, crushed almond, creamy nougat. On the palate – An interplay of lemon, peach, and nectarine. A touch of minerality surfaces, grounding the performance.
This McLaren Vale Shiraz is kind of like a heavy rock band that has gone to elocution lessons. Intense yet refined and with great clarity. On the eye – Deep brooding red with crimson hue. Aroma – Dark berries, some plum and spice, cracked pepper and star anise. On the palate – Full bodied, firm velvet like tannins. Rounded finish.
