There’s a certain warmth that comes with a Queenslander home but this one, prior to its transformation by Style Kitchens by Design, was in desperate need of light and some new life. Despite what their name suggests, the Brisbane based studio does far more than kitchens.
Led by third-generation designer Stuart May, the team has become known for luxurious whole home renovations that bring sophistication and functionality to every corner, as seen in the stunning revival of this classic home.
Starting with a dark and closed layout, the first priority was to open the home up to its gorgeous surroundings. A series of glass doors were introduced to connect the interior to the leafy outlook, flooding the home with natural light and adding a renewed sense of space. The shaker style cabinetry, hand-painted for extra durability in a classic cream, lays the foundation for the luxurious kitchen that combines timeless character with modern design elements like soft close drawers and integrated appliances. Adding the luxurious element brass tapware, hardware, and lighting accents introduce warmth and sophistication to the space. A custom-made brass ladder was also created by the team for easy access to upper cabinetry, while a classic fireclay sink reinforces the home’s country aesthetic.
Beyond the kitchen, the renovation extended to the laundry/ mudroom, and bespoke cabinetry throughout the home including built-in bookcases, showcasing the team’s ability to deliver cohesive, beautifully detailed interiors.
