Winmark, Danish for “Field of Wines” celebrates the remarkable revival of the historical Poole’s Rock Vineyard and restoration of 28 acres of prime Hunter Valley vineyards, under the watchful eye of Danish vigneron Karin Adcock. For half a century, the vineyard has grown exceptional fruit, with a proud history of producing highly acclaimed Chardonnay. In acknowledgement of this, Winmark Wines has devoted the entire estate to Chardonnay.

Recently named 2023 Hunter Valley Cellar Door of the Year, shortlisted for Best New Winery and rated a 5 Star Winery by the acclaimed James Halliday Wine Companion 2024, Winmark is not just a premium Chardonnay producer, it’s a destination designed to connect guests with wine, architecture, art and nature. Beautifully designed, the new cellar door overlooks the 28 acre vineyard, offering tastings of Winmark’s premium Chardonnays. A wonderland of their own, the Winmark Art Gallery and Sculpture walk have opened alongside the cellar door making Winmark the perfect place to spend an afternoon.

Icon 72 Chardonnay 2021  –  $89 per bottle
Winmark Wines has a rich viticultural history, dating back to 1972 when the first vines were planted with Penfolds clone on block 4 of the 28 acre vineyard. The icon ‘seven two’ heralds the move to produce this Chardonnay exclusively using the premium fruit of Block 4. Winmark proudly presents the first release of this icon Chardonnay 72 honouring the 50th anniversary of these vines. This small batch Chardonnay will only be produced in outstanding years available exclusively through Cellar Door.

Single Vineyard Reserve Chardonnay 2021 – $55 per bottle
Meticulously crafted from fruit harvest in the cool and gently pressed to ensure absolute freshness it was introduced to fine French Oak for 11 months allowing time to develop it’s rich and elegant palate. The Single Vineyard Reserve Chardonnay is inviting and generous with bright Nashi pear, fig and biscotti with butterscotch aromas. The expressions of warm spice tones followed by earthy minerality are courtesy of the unique Winmark soils. The velvety finish is long and persistent, with hints of citrus. This wine will mature beautifully over time.
