If you think this home has wow factor, you’re not the only one. It was recently awarded the ‘Australian New House of the Year 2017 at the National Association of Building Designers awards and recognised by the Building Designers Association of Queensland and the Queensland Master Builders Association as their ‘2017 House of the Year’.

Situated at the entry of the main canal at Pacific Harbour on Bribie Island, the client’s brief was for a ‘5 Star Resort Style Home’ that had water views from every room, and the spectacular views are just the start of the incredible features of this home.

Designed by Brisbane based Robin Payne Building Design, a man-made lagoon wraps the edges of the home, encasing the living area and 3 of the 4 guest suites so the water is literally on the home’s doorstep.  In the open plan kitchen, living and dining, frameless glass walls slide away, seamlessly connecting the interior and exterior spaces and allowing the tropical gardens and breathtaking water vista to seem almost touchable.

With proportions the size of a small house, the opulent master suite certainly meets the ‘5 Star Resort’ brief. Dark timber flooring adds to the tropical ambience and timber panelling on the walls add a richness and warmth to the room as well as architectural interest.

A very generous building site of nearly 1800sqm, has allowed every imaginable luxury appointment to be included in this fabulous home, including a 10,000 bottle wine cellar with a dumb waiter to the upper floor, a home theatre, expansive terraces and a harbour-side pool – creating the ultimate home for entertaining.  Staying visitors can also retreat to their own private sanctuaries with each of the four guest suites also incorporating an en-suite, kitchenette, and private balcony offering stunning views – a true 5 star experience.
