An historic limestone building on Stirling Highway Peppermint Grove, which in recent years was being utilised as a laundry facility, underwent an extraordinary transformation by award-winning Pirone Builders to become a stylish new bar/restaurant, and a gorgeous showroom for a national furniture retailer.
The project involved the demolition of what had been a past addition to the existing structure at the rear of the property and the construction of a new two storey building which has been seamlessly integrated into the heritage listed limestone building believed to have been constructed around 1915. Offices are contained on the upper level and the lower level houses an impressive showroom which beautifully transitions from the new rear entry, through to the historical site on the street front.
Utilising the highly skilled craftsman that have built Pirone’s reputation as one of Perth’s premier luxury custom home builders, the highly specified interior includes a stunning array of unique finishes including a terrazzo floor which was designed to reflect spatterings of West Australian wildflowers, extensive custom joinery and pillars clad in brass.
Existing timber framed windows were replaced with large steel framed windows and the existing heritage limestone walls were all cleaned and repointed creating a beautiful textural feature within the showroom.
The upper level offices also contain a large kitchen area, bathroom and stylish meeting rooms.
In the bar, an industrial style warehouse aesthetic has been introduced to the heritage building with exposed brick walls and polished concrete floors creating an edgy urban space to unwind with a glass of wine or evening cocktail.
Pirone Builders have forged a reputation built on quality construction and exceptional attention to detail.
