Curves were a key part of the design direction, introducing a more fluid feel to an otherwise angular space. By introducing rounded edges to the island, Brightwood Design created a more comfortable flow through the kitchen, which was especially important in a renovation where the new cabinetry needed to sit confidently within the existing footprint. The curves make the space feel softer and more suited to family life, while still maintaining a clean, contemporary finish.

Behind the island, modern shaker-style cabinetry has been finished in 2-Pac paint in Dulux Snowy Mountain. The profile gives the kitchen subtle detail without making it feel overly traditional, while the crisp white cabinetry keeps the space bright and calm. Black hardware introduces a fine line of contrast, giving the kitchen definition against the white cabinetry and pale stone surfaces.

The splashback adds another important layer to this gorgeous coastal style kitchen renovation. Its soft green tone works with the island colour, while the textured surface catches the light and brings a handmade quality to the room. The effect is fresh and tactile, giving the kitchen personality without overwhelming the overall palette.
