Reinventing traditional safari-style architecture, the Cheetah Plains game lodge in the Sabi Sand Game Reserve in Kruger National Park by ARRCC combines state-of-the art sustainable architecture with an afro-minimalist aesthetic to create three luxurious villas that offer guests the ultimate way to experience the natural surroundings.
Designed by renowned architect and ARRCC director Stefan Antoni, each spectacular exclusive-use villa incorporates four bedrooms accommodating a maximum of eight guests per villa. As a fully inclusive safari experience, each villa comes with a private chef who prepares all guest meals, selectively chosen wines from the cellar, twice-daily game drives, a private spa therapist and a central gym facility.
“A key decision at the outset was to create an experience where the architecture did not compete or distract from the nature experience but rather to engage and interact with it.”says Antoni.
Both inside and out the villas feature a range of organic materials, textures and tones, carefully chosen to harmonise with the environment. Inside locally sourced furnishings and bold and colourful artwork from some of South Africa’s leading artists add luxe appeal whilst floor to ceiling windows and glass walls fully open up the inside to the outdoors, allowing guests to completely immerse themselves in the safari experience whilst relaxing in ultimate luxury.
