Situated on an elevated site, overlooking Yallingup’s main beach, this gorgeous new modern beach house by Tallwood Constructions offers the perfect place for family gatherings in WA’s beautiful south west.

Sitting in perfect harmony with the surroundings, the home features a myriad of sustainable materials including recycled ironbark cladding which has been used on the home’s exterior, adding an organic quality to the contemporary façade that will tell the story of the homes evolution as it gradually weathers and changes over time. 

Assigned the task of maximising the footprint of the home and its access to the stunning ocean views, Tallwood, in collaboration with Dane Designs have created a three-storey abode that appears to retreat into the landscape at the rear whilst cantilevering out towards the ocean at the front of the property. The facade beautifully combines timber and natural stone cladding, giving the home a natural, rustic appeal whilst being sustainable, low maintenance and durable enough to withstand the harsh coastal conditions. The material selection was also carefully chosen in consideration of successfully achieving a BAL 12.5 Fire rating.

Taking full advantage of the spectacular ocean vistas the large linear volume of the second level houses two secondary bedrooms and the main living spaces in an open-plan design that seamlessly transitions through stacking doors, to an expansive terrace where the wonderful ocean breezes and sunsets can be fully appreciated. 

The space is flooded in natural light thanks to clever features that include a glass splashback in the kitchen and clerestory windows that are made possible thanks to an upper-level void which also amplifies the feeling of spaciousness within the room. An extensive amount of timber including a striking curved timber clad feature wall and built in furniture, imbues the interior with a wonderful organic warmth that adds to the inviting appeal of the Middle-Eastern influences of the home’s interior. 

Entering through a gorgeous stone-clad archway, a separate side entry allows private access to a self-contained studio apartment with its own kitchenette and living space, creating the perfect space for guests or extended family. A striking focal point of the lower level is a custom feature cellar with double-sided glass walls. 

Accessible via staircase from the lower level, a rear courtyard creates yet another private space to retreat to with fabulous built-in seating. The outdoor entertaining space has been further maximised thanks to timber screening which extends around the northern side of the home allowing light to enter whilst maintaining privacy from neighbouring properties.

Beautifully finished with exceptional attention to detail throughout, the home incorporates a total of 430sqm of luxury living. The upper-level houses the master bedroom which again has been imbued with the warmth of a timber-clad feature wall. A window provides the perfect place to unwind with a book whist taking in the expansive ocean views.
