This Northbridge home isn’t trying to play it safe and that’s exactly what makes it work. Originally a classic Californian bungalow, it’s been flipped into something far more interesting, a modern family home with serious design cred, a bit of attitude, and loads of attention to detail.
Interior designers Studio Trio led the charge with stylist Jackie Brown, working with clients who didn’t want beige-on-beige or anything remotely forgettable. Think bold wallpaper, a mirror-backed bar in the living room, a powder room with actual personality, and a kitchen that leans into the drama with New York Marble, black finishes, and a gentle hit of blush pink to soften the edges.
To tie it all together? Clean, custom detailing. Intrim’s timber mouldings were used throughout the house to add structure and polish but without stealing the show. As a leading manufacturer of finely crafted timber mouldings and handrails, they were the perfect team to give it that completed look. The SK840 profile was used for the skirtings and architraves, chosen for its simplicity and crisp lines. It keeps things sharp but doesn’t shout for attention.
Downstairs, the white dado-height wainscoting created using IN04 inlay moulds and CR22 chair rails. Set against pink walls, it adds a little contrast, a little elegance, and a whole lot of texture. It’s one of those details that makes the house feel thought-through, not just styled.
There’s no part of this place that feels like filler. Every room has a moment from the banquet dining setup to the full-length bar and the mouldings help keep everything feeling cohesive, bold, but balanced.
This isn’t your average reno. It’s a smart, layered, and unapologetically stylish home where architectural detail and big design ideas live happily under one roof. Proof that when the design’s good and the materials are right you definitely don’t need to play it safe.
