Sydney’s based artist, Scott Petrie’s artistic journey is a study in career evolution. What began in the word of fashion has flourished into a celebrated career in fine art. Having trained in Fashion Design at The School of Visual Arts, Petrie’s eye for colour, texture, and structure laid the groundwork for the bold, contemporary style that defines his work today. His paintings, influenced by years of travel and a deep connection to place, bring a refined vibrancy to the space they inhabit.

Over nearly two decades, Petrie’s career has been shaped by diverse experiences. Early in his career, he worked on residential and commercial developments across Australia and abroad, deepening his understanding of how art interacts with interior spaces. By his 30s, a move to New York marked a turning point, as he fully immersed himself in his painting practice. Here, Petrie began refining the bold and expressive style that has become his signature.

Travel has been a constant source of inspiration, with extended stays in Switzerland and Morocco leaving lasting impressions on his work. His canvases echo the vivid landscapes of Morocco, the sweeping vistas of Australia, and the architectural elegance of Europe, evoking a profound sense of place.

New Sculptural Paintings

Sculptural paintings represent an exciting new exploration in art for Scott. This innovative form of expression merges painting with three-dimensional elements, transforming flat surfaces into textured, dynamic creations that feel almost alive. With these new works, Petrie invites viewers to experience art in an entirely new way.

Now based in Sydney, after a stint in Singapore, Petrie continues to push creative boundaries while maintaining strong connections with clients in Asia. His work, celebrated in prestigious art prizes and exhibitions across the United States, Australia, and Singapore, reflects a global perspective that resonates deeply with collectors and design aficionados alike.
