Harmony and tranquility aren’t words that are typically associated with ultra-modern design. Yet, in the case of Greenwich House, crafted by Sydney’s multi-award-winning Chateau Architects + Builders, these words perfectly capture the essence of this luxury residence.
The client sought a sleek, contemporary home with a strong connection with its outdoor surroundings and that’s exactly what they received. Greenwich House is a striking modern masterpiece, designed to blend naturally into its environment while making a bold architectural statement in its neighborhood.
Extensive glazing throughout ensures the home is flooded in natural light creating an atmosphere that is bright and airy. In the kitchen, a sleek, streamlined design and a palette of crisp white with light timber accents allows for visual connection to the rear garden area, allowing parents to keep an eye on the children while preparing meals.
A large family living room, and dining area are key family gathering spaces. The top floor of the home with a balcony off the living area offers yet another space to relax with beautiful tree top views, and in the distance the busy city 7 kilometres away. With multiple areas outside the home as well, the open-plan layout offers the best of both worlds, shared areas for family time and quiet spaces for relaxation.
Materials and finishes were selected with care. The unique dining room features rich wood finishes and custom paneling and wall treatments, while the bathrooms are fitted with luxurious stone. Glass balustrades along the staircases and a mix of tiles and timber floors create a polished look throughout the home, with each detail contributing to the overall aesthetic.
Outdoors, Greenwich House embraces the Sydney lifestyle with an open-air entertaining area, complete with a pool and water feature and expansive lawn. Another courtyard in the centre of the home provides more space for sitting.
This project highlights the Chateau team’s attention to detail and their absolute dedication to producing homes of the finest quality. Every aspect of the home was designed to enhance the connection between indoor and outdoor spaces, and to create flow throughout the generously floor plan. High-end fixtures and fittings add to the overall luxurious feel of the home.
Not surprisingly Greenwhich House was the winner of a MBA NSW Award, for Best Contract House $2.6m – $2.7m – cementing its place among the top homes in the region and adding yet another plaque to Chateau Architects + Builders many accolades.
