I recently had the pleasure of staying at Kubu Villas in Seminyak, and let me tell you, it was everything I had hoped for and more. My one bedroom villa was spacious and thoughtfully designed, with a gorgeous bathroom complete with bath surrounded by a koi pond and tropical gardens. The living and dining areas were open and airy, perfect for lounging or enjoying meals in the privacy of my own space. But the absolute highlight was the private pool. I loved the freedom of being able to swim whenever I wanted, including a magical midnight swim under the stars – something you just can’t do in a hotel, where pools are often annoying closed by early evening.

 

 

The service was just as impressive as the setting. I felt completely pampered, the staff are all so friendly going above and beyond, and everything was done with a sense of ease and warmth. One evening, I decided to treat myself to a three-course meal from the Kubu Café. It was delivered right to my villa, where I dined by the pool. The prawn cocktail starter was fresh and flavorful, the salmon main course was perfectly cooked, and the pannacotta with fruit dessert was the ideal sweet finish. It was restaurant-quality dining as good as any 5 star resort I’ve stayed in and in the comfort of my own private sanctuary. Kubu Villas also provides daily breakfast, 24-hour security, and a dedicated concierge, to help arrange special activities and tours for you, ensuring you have the most enjoyable stay possible.

 

 

Kubu Villa’s location is also a major plus. Even though Kubu Villas feels secluded and quiet, tucked away from the hustle and bustle, it’s just a short walk to Jalan Raya Seminyak, where there are plenty of shops, cafe’s, bars and restaurants. Also within walking distance is the now huge, Bintang Supermarket, that has everything you need for a great stay if you want to self cater in your villa’s fully equipped kitchen. Seminyak Beach is only about a kilometre away, so you can enjoy sunset cocktails at one of Seminyak’s many beach clubs and stroll home, stopping at some of the many market stalls along the way.

 

 

 

One last thing I have to mention is Venus Spa, Kubu Villas’s own onsite day spa. Even if you’re not staying at Kubu Villas, it’s worth a visit. The massages and facials are next-level amazing, and the space itself is so calming and serene – I left feeling completely renewed.
