There’s a certain type of person who simply cannot live in a beige house. The kind who gravitates toward bold patterns, unique objet d’art and furniture, and sees a blank space, not as something to preserve but to bring to life. For them, colour isn’t something you add at the end – it’s what shapes the entire space. That’s exactly where designer Anna Chandler has always sat.

Long before the recent shift back toward maximalism, before patterned interiors began reappearing across design circles, Anna Chandler was building a world defined by colour. What began in a small back shed in the late 1980’s has grown into an internationally recognised Australian homewares and accessories brand, based in Western Australia and now stocked in hundreds of premium retailers across the country.

After studying design at Curtin University, Chandler moved across jewellery, interiors and decorative finishes, building a broad creative foundation. As a result there’s a richness to her collections that goes beyond surface level, with pieces that feel tactile, detailed and expressive – whether it’s a ceramic platter, a printed tea towel, a cushion or one of her bold beach towels that you just can’t miss on the beach.

“Trends come and go. I like to create things of timeless beauty which bring joy and colour to your home.”
Anna Chandler

Living in a 120-year-old house on the ocean in Perth’s Cottesloe, Chandler surrounds herself with vintage flea-market finds and pieces collected through her travels to exotic corners of the world. It’s an environment that feels eclectic, expressive and entirely her own, and that same layered, collected way of living shows up in everything she creates. Travel has always been a driving force behind her work, but not in the predictable sense. It’s the colour and texture of the places that she has visited that add to the vibrancy of her designs.

It’s a way of designing that prioritises feeling over fashion, her collections aren’t about restraint they’re about creating beautiful, cheerful spaces that feel vibrant, welcoming and full of life. You see it across her entire range from richly patterned tableware that transforms everyday dining into something more joyful, to cushions, tea towels, doormats and decorative accessories that bring personality into even the smallest corners of a home. These are pieces designed to be lived with, to be used, enjoyed and layered over time.

“Colour makes the table a happy place.”
– Anna Chandler

And while much of the design world has leaned into softer palettes and restraint, Chandler has stayed firmly in her own lane. Her work is unapologetically bold, created for those who want their homes to feel expressive, energetic and a little unexpected. These aren’t pieces that sit on display and go untouched. They’re part of daily life, used, moved around, mixed in with other finds gradually shaping a home that feels collected and personal rather than styled.
