Beachfront resorts in Bali have their obvious appeal. You have the location, the service, the beach nearby and the ease of stepping out to restaurants, cafés and spas without giving the day too much thought. But after a recent four night stay at The Chands Three, our Editor found this beachfront Seminyak villa offered all of that, with something hotels rarely manage in quite the same way: space, privacy and genuine personal service.
Set directly on Batu Belig Beach, The Chands Three sits in one of those Bali locations that makes holiday decisions feel wonderfully simple. The W Bali is next door, restaurants and cafés are close by, and the beach is right there, just a few steps from the villa. You can wake up, make a coffee, walk across to the sand, and start the day with the sound of the water instead of the movement of a hotel lobby. It is central to everything, but once you are back inside the villa, it feels private, relaxed and very much your own.
One of the lovely things about staying here is that you do not have to choose between the convenience of a hotel and the comfort of a private home. Breakfast can be enjoyed at the oceanfront cafés opposite through an arrangement with The Chands, or served at the villa in the poolside gazebo, where you can sit with the sea in front of you and the pool beside you. On some mornings, that might mean heading across for a coffee on the beach. On others, it might mean staying barefoot at the villa for as long as possible, which is often the better idea.
The villa itself is far more generous than a hotel stay could ever hope to be. There are three spacious bedrooms, all with gorgeous bathrooms and bathtubs, making it an easy choice for families, couples travelling together or a group of friends. The main suite is the one everyone will want however – with exceptional ocean views and its own balcony, but despite that each room feels just as spacious and comfortable rather than like a secondary suite. There is also a separate TV room and a full kitchen with large fridges, so guests can stock drinks, snacks and food for the stay. It is the kind of practical luxury that matters when you are travelling as a group – cold drinks by the pool, snacks for children, fresh fruit, champagne, ice, or whatever else you want close at hand without needing to call down to reception or leave the villa.
Upstairs, the living area looks out to the ocean, giving the villa another place to slow down between swims, spa treatments, beach walks and dinners out. This is where The Chands Three really starts to rival the local hotels. You still have daily service, restaurant access and staff close at hand, but the experience feels far more one-on-one. The team are not simply servicing rooms on a schedule – they are helping shape the stay around what you need and that difference was really felt throughout the four nights. The staff were extremely helpful and accommodating, and consistently went above and beyond to make the stay more comfortable.
Room service can also be arranged from neighbouring restaurants, which is ideal when you want to stay in but still enjoy the food around you and of course there is also Gojek and Grab the local ‘Uber Eats’ that can deliver you almost anything which the staff will graciously bring to you and set up in the villa for you like in-room dining. One of the standout moments was a full day of in-house spa treatments organised through a neighbouring spa, with body scrubs, massages and facials all enjoyed in the comfort of the villa. No traffic, no rushing, no need to leave the poolside setting behind.
Then there is the privacy, which is perhaps the greatest luxury of all. If you are travelling with children, there is no need to worry about them being too noisy at breakfast or making a mess over dinner. If you are travelling with friends, there is plenty of space to gather for long lunches, late-night drinks, laughs and catchups, while still having enough room for everyone to retreat when they need a little time out to their own private space. Our Editor and her family love the water, so one of the biggest drawcards of The Chands Three was having a private pool all to themselves. In a hotel, the pool often comes with opening hours, a rush for the best positioned lounges and the feeling that you are always moving through public spaces. Here, the pool is all yours, here’s no pool closing time and nothing holding you back from a skinny dip at midnight under the moonlight with the waves crashing in the background.
Falling asleep to the sound of waves, waking up to the same, heading down for a morning coffee on the beach – It is a different kind of Bali stay, especially for those who love the polish and service of luxury accommodation but prefer the privacy and flexibility of a villa.
The Chands Three comfortably accommodates six guests, and for larger groups, other villas within The Chands complex are also available. That makes it a great option for extended families, friends travelling together, milestone celebrations or anyone wanting to stay close without being confined to one property. You can have the shared holiday experience, while still giving everyone room to breathe.
For travellers searching for a luxury villa in Seminyak, a Bali beachfront villa or a private pool villa with hotel-style service, The Chands Three is very easy to recommend. It has the location people want, the staff support that makes the stay feel personal, the restaurants and cafés close by, and the rare luxury of going to sleep with the ocean just beyond the villa. After four nights, it is exactly the kind of beachfront Seminyak villa that makes booking a hotel feel far less appealing.
