Stainless steel and stone feature in these stylish, internal and alfresco kitchens by Brisbane’s Style Kitchens By Design.
The owners of this Windsor home had already fallen in love with the stunning feature stone so a colour palette that highlighted the stone and a stylish contemporary design were both a key to the brief for these two new kitchens by Brisbane’s Style Kitchens by Design. For the main kitchen the chosen cabinetry perfectly complements the stone and the high gloss finish gives it an almost dynamic appearance altering throughout the day with the changing light.
Requesting an abundance of bench space, the client requested that the sink was placed to the side, rather than in the island bench, creating a beautiful space for casual drinks with guests. Customising each kitchen to the individual needs and lifestyle of their clients is how each and every Style Kitchens by Design project is approached.
Style Kitchen’s philosophy is to give each client time between design drafts to consider all options and the functionality of the design and how it works with their lifestyle, then make further amendments as required. They also believe it’s incredibly important for clients to use their showroom as much as possible to ensure the dimensions between working spaces are optimal, this includes benchtop and cupboard heights, something that is very difficult to do simply with a tape measure.
As a luxury family home, high-quality appliances were an absolute must. Seeing the Subzero fridge in the Style Kitchen’s kitchen showroom and having a first-hand demonstration of the superior air filtration system at work made it the natural choice for this client, complemented by Wolf ovens.
With the stainless steel handles and fascias of the appliances, the decision was made to not introduce another finish to the kitchen and instead use stainless steel as a soft element on the back of the island and drawer gaps. When using stainless steel it is important to ensure the balance and design is just right or the kitchen can quickly appear as a commercial space.
