Representing some of Australia’s best talent, five winners were announced at Thursday’s 2022 Hart & Co. Kitchen and Laundry Design Awards. Presented by Smeg, the awards are the first independent industry awards in Western Australia and showcased the exceptional calibre of design coming out of the state.
The inaugural event was hosted at Hart & Co’s state-of-the-art luxury appliance showroom in Osborne Park, where 200 guests across the design industry enjoyed a wonderful night of entertainment and celebration which included Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese brought from Italy from the farm owned by Smeg, along with gourmet delights by local celebrity chef, Sophie Budd.
The judging panel included national award-winning building designer Shayne Le Roy, owner and Directory of Renew Renovations and Building, Dean Beament, architect and academic, Justin Owen and photographer Jody D’Arcy. Rick Hart said the Hart & Co. team were extremely proud of the local talent demonstrated by all the award entrants over the past few months. Five winners were announced from 18 finalists across 5 categories sharing in $16,000 in cash and prizes. The winners included:
Studio Atelier – Designer of the Year & Kitchen Design Excellence Over $60,000
Kimberley Swinyard of husband-and-wife duo at Studio Atelier took out top prize as the Designer of the Year, with her innovative and family friendly kitchen design as well as winning the award for Kitchen Design Excellence Over $60,000.
Designtique – Kitchen Design Excellence up to $59,000
Boutique design company Designtique, run by the talented Emily Domazetovski took out the Kitchen Design Excellence (up to $59,000) for this gorgeous light-filled kitchen, designed to stand the
test of time.
Lux Interiors – Laundry Design Excellence
Claremont’s Lux Interiors took out the Laundry Design Excellence category with a coastal
barn themed laundry, that championed a selection of appliances, combined with ample
bench space and innovative storage.
Project Black Design – People’s Choice Award
The People’s Choice winner was won by Tania Wright at Project Black Design & KTR
Creations, with an exceptionally slick and modern kitchen design. Wright was voted as the
People’s Choice Winner out of all 18 finalists over the last three weeks.
