Kitchen With WOW Factor

Located in the picturesque suburb of Illawong in Sydney, this  gorgeous waterfront residence recently underwent a stunning renovation designed by talented Sydney interior designer Alicia Xiberras.

The project included a comprehensive update of the existing kitchen, powder room, living area, and general finishes, transforming the contemporary-style home to give it more modern luxurious feel. The 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom, property has breathtaking views of Wearne Bay and the Georges River, making it an ideal setting for an elegant and functional design overhaul.

The primary focus of the renovation was to give their outdated home s facelift and create a home to better serve their family functionality wise. The main goal was to redesign the kitchen with a “wow factor,” while reflecting their personal style and opulence of its surrounding views. They requested LED lighting for ambience and resolve their kitchen joinery around an existing gable ceiling and gable windows.

Working closely with the clients, providing joinery sketches and selecting materials and lighting that aligned with the existing gabled ceiling, the result was a cohesive design that refreshed the entire space.

With the challenge of working within the constraints of the existing gabled ceiling and previous renovations, it was crucial to balance the bold materials with elements that would add warmth and luxury. The integration of LED lighting and feature fixtures played a key role in achieving both ambiance and functionality.

One of the standout features of this renovation is the use of Arashi marble in the kitchen and powder room. This striking natural stone, paired with dark timber veneer creates a bold contrast that draws the eye and sets the tone for the entire space. The kitchen is further elevated by a fluted joinery rangehood and a statement gabled ceiling, which together create a dynamic and sophisticated focal point.

This renovation project in Illawong is a beautiful example of thoughtful design and expert craftsmanship.
