This Hunters Hill waterfront home enjoyed stunning views, but the existing outdoor space wasn’t fully capitalising on the location or connecting well with the home’s interiors. Award winning landscape designer Dean Herald of Rolling Stone Landscape was engaged to design and create an outdoor environment that allowed the family to truly make the most of where they live.
What was once an underutilised paved area is now a striking entertaining pavilion, expertly designed for year round enjoyment. The inspired island bench which appears to float at one end, echoes the arch of the nearby Gladesville Bridge which is visible across the water. This sculptural centrepiece anchors the space and is fully equipped with a sink, BBQ and built-in ice bucket, setting the tone for sophisticated outdoor entertaining.
A timber-lined ceiling, and feature stone wall which houses a pizza oven, add an organic warmth, ensuring the pavilion transitions naturally into the garden behind. Skylights add soft natural light, heat lamps extend usability through cooler months, and ambient lighting keeps the space inviting at night.
Most importantly, in this Hunters Hill luxury landscape design – a generous lounge area has been perfectly positioned to take in those spectacular views – adding value to the home in more ways than one.
