Poolside, an expansive pergola with a Teppenyaki plate sits in a countertop of single poured concrete and handmade copper swinging chairs, individually crafted by a renowned South African artist, contrast with the stone, recycled timber and rusted steel to create an urban industrial style space for entertaining.
A welcoming whiskey lounge in a converted monorail carriage is within easy reach and overlooks a formal European style garden with a custom designed chicken coup.
Dispersed throughout, distinctively bold plant pots, filled with delicate, yielding greenery and foliage, further speak of the perfect balance between strong and soft components that makes this landscape so interesting.
The compelling lines and structural elements of the landscape are softened with liberal application of mixed shrub and perennial plantings. Tastefully elegant, yet informal and relaxed planting arrangements finish off the haven. Throughout the garden, specimen feature trees and accents of clipped shrubs are cleverly positioned amongst drifts of flowering perennials under-planted with the gentlest of spreading groundcovers.
